Mercury Vapor ballasts have now been discontinued,
and are no longer available.
Some Metal Halide ballasts will also operate the equal
Mercury Vapor lamp - 175w, 250w, 400w and 1000w.
It is best to replace Mercury Vapor lamps with a lower
wattage metal halide lamp/ballast, as Metal Halide is
about 25% brighter than Mercury Vapor.
Because the lower wattage Metal Halide Ballasts are
Pulse-Start, they cannot be used with Mercury Vapor
lamps.
